Yerevan, Yerevan Airport (EVN), Armenia to Deluxe Hotel Yerevan

Delve deep into Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, and discover the immensely rich history, heritage and culture of one of the earliest cities in the world. We start our tour with a visit to the museum of Erebuni and the remains of the ancient fortress-city, which dates back to the 8th century BC. From there we move on to Tsitsernakaberd memorial on our way to the Cascade, a massive limestone stairway that links Yerevan’s downtown area with the Monument neighbourhood. As we reach the top, we’ll have a beautiful view of the city and the gardens at the base of this “Stairway to Heaven”. Afterwards, we’ll pass by the Opera House and the Northern Avenue, before ending our tour at the Republic Square, where you can catch the dancing fountain show. Explore antiquity like never before with a visit to two of Armenia’s most popular historical attractions: The Garni Fortress Complex and the Geghard Monastery. We start our tour at Garni, where we visit its ancient fortress complex, built around the 3rd - 2nd century BC. Its pièce de résistance, a remarkably preserved temple almost 2000 years old, majestically erect at the summit of this cliff-perched fortress. Visit one of the most famous destinations in Armenia, Khor Virap, and then journey to the Noravank Monastery, a real gem of medieval Armenian architecture. As we arrive in Khor Virap, the town where Grigor Luisavorich was imprisoned for 13 years, we’ll be told a story of how he cured King Triad III of a wretched disease and, in turn, converted both the king and the country into the world’s first Christian nation, in the year 301. Such accomplishments earned him the title of Saint Gregory the Illuminator and made him a symbol in Armenia. From there we travel to Yeghegnadzor, on our way to Noravank, a 13th-century Monastery built by Orbelian noblemen on the stunning brick-red cliffs of the Gnishik Canyon.
